A Bulgarian-born Canadian,
Kemp grew up in Eastern Europe. Since his mother was an
artist and art historian he spent his childhood surrounded
by a vast selection of art books and frequent visits to
great museums of the world. Kemp received a Master of
Fine Arts degree from the National Academy of Arts in
Sofia, Bulgaria and a Masters degree in History and Theory
of Culture from Sofia State University. In addition, Kemp
extended his education by studying Multi-Media Design
in Montreal, Canada
Kemp artwork is influenced by the “postmodern order,
the beauty based on free, contemporary interpretation
of old styles and elements from different cultures.”
His view of art allows for a new pluralist interpretation
of old styles of art and the freedom to create one’s
own “ art language.”
