ART SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
New York Graphic Society and its affiliated publishing companies welcome submissions from artists, agents, and galleries for open edition publishing consideration. Please follow the guidelines provided here when submitting your work for review.
-
Submissions must be made via mail or email. We are unable to accept or respond to phone calls from artists we are not currently publishing, as our schedules simply don’t allow us that luxury. Please be assured, however, that every submission we receive is reviewed and carefully considered.
-
Do NOT send us original art or transparencies, as we cannot be responsible for their safe arrival or return. You may send high quality color copies of your work and/or digital files of your work (in jpg format only.) If making your submission by email, please do not attach jpgs which exceed 8 MB in combined file size. For ease of viewing, we recommend that you send low-resolution jpgs for submission purposes (we will request high-resolution files at a later time if required.)
-
Please include all of your contact information in form of a cover letter, including an active email address. If you have a website that showcases more of your work, please provide a link to the site or a site address. You are also encouraged to include brief bio information, as well as any open edition publishing history.
-
If you are making your submission by mail and need your materials returned, you must provide a self-addressed, stamped envelope that fits the materials. Please note that any submissions that do not include this may be discarded after review.
We regret that we are unable to personally respond to all submissions, and will only contact those artists whose work is of immediate interest. Submissions are reviewed within a few weeks of receipt; if you are not contacted within that time frame, please do not call. No response means that your submission is not currently of interest to us. We are not able to provide critiques of submissions.
Please understand that we are able to publish only a very small percentage of the submissions received. Those that are not selected for publication are generally declined based on market appropriateness versus on quality. We encourage you to study the marketplace for commerically viable trends and for the types of works we currently publish to help determine if your style of work is a good fit for our needs.
